'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.
Kielbasa is polish sausage.... kind of a cured sausage. the flavors are subtle, and the Polish and Ukrainian are very particular about their kielbasa. My DH (1/2 Ukrainian) perfers "holiday" sausage - a special blend of spices is used in the sausage mixture. What about you Krystian? What's your preference?
Pierogies - think ravioli.... but instead of stuffing them with meat, stuff them with mashed potatoes, or mashed potatoes & cheese, or mashed potatoes & onions, or any combination of the above, along with bacon, or whatever.
Now, fry them in a little butter and oil with onions.
And serve with sour cream.
(I actually made kielbasa and sauerkraut last night, too, but it's more for DH and his lunches. - It has more sodium than I would normally eat.)

Love pierogies, cooked just the way you said.
Never homemade them. My sister's m-i-l used to homemkae them all the time ... mmmmm good.
Store bought are still good.
Yes, it was a seaweed salad. Quite good, actually. First time I've tried one. My favorite grocery store has a sushi area that is managed by some Asian people. I'd like to get to know her, so I'm going to be acquiring a taste for sushi. Cooked is ok. Not up to raw yet.

My Ukrainian grandparents had a factory tavern, with pike and pieroghi being standard fare on Fridays. Every Thursday was pieroghi making day, where a small group of women gathered with dough and rolling pins.
Before my grandparents had the tavern, they had a bakery. They made the best bread. Braided challah. We have yet to find a bread that can compare.
It was an interesting slice of life, living in a nation within a nation.

Had a bacon, tomato, and mayo sandwich on fresh bread for breakfast this morning.
Look, as it were, through a telescope that will bring it up near to you; look into hell, and hear them groan; then turn the glass upwards and look at heaven, and see the saints there, in their white robes, with their harps in their hands, and hear them sing the song of redeeming love; and ask yourself--Is it possible, that I should prevail with God to elevate the sinner there? Do this, and if you are not a wicked man, and a stranger to God, you will soon have as much of the spirit of prayer as your body can sustain.

A late breatkfast consisted of me making a couple of eggs with goat cheese and caramelized onions with salsa and half an avacado on top.I've had an apple and a sandwich with chicken salad I made on Sunday as well.
I'm now eating 6 times a day and loosing weight without even exercising. Man, I'm diggin' this.![]()
Good explanations and I'd like to add that the Eckrich and other brands of sausage found in supermarkets are NOT real kielbasa but poor wannabe imitations. When you buy kielbasa you need to go to a place that makes them themselves and then displays them hanging behind the counter:

My preference is the smoked, just never cared for the fresh varieties. I have two places I usually purchase them from, one is Joyview Market in your neck of the woods, and this is the other one:

They have a little more variety in their kielbasa there including finely ground and they use very lean cuts of meats, delicious!
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
